If your heart's in San Francisco

In preparation for my departure to South Africa I have begun to brainstorm for things I would like to bring to share with people. Since part of my obligation in my scholarship is to serve as an ambassador, I intend to be a good representative for San Francisco. Often, ambassdorial scholars who have preceded me bring gifts from their hometown to bestow upon Rotarians and other people that they meet as a way of greasing the ambassadorial wheel, and as a gesture of friendship and goodwill. As someone fiercely proud of being a native San Franciscan, I wanted to proselytize a bit as well as take the opportunity to generate some creative production.

As such I am now asking those of you who either live in San Francisco or have a connection to the city to submit materials for a San Francisco zine. I will serve as editor and produce the zine as one of my gifts to people in Cape Town. There are no restrictions on what you create as long as it has something to do with San Francisco, it is suitable for publication in a zine, and does not contain anything obscene (although don't be afraid to push the envelope in your intial offering--I'm not here to stifle you).

I am also planning a mix CD of San Francisco and California songs to accompany this zine. Any song suggestions would be welcome too.

So c'mon people, get those creative juices flowing!
